The founders

     
Consuelo Almandos Almonacid, born in Argentina, 29 years old, and has both Argentine and British  nationality.  Consuelo has a BSc Sports Science degree in England and has returned to live in Argentina. She is a helmsman and has sailed in various vessels in Europe, including the Tenacious, Lord Nelson and Mathews, also representing the University of Portsmouth at Cowes’s Week 2002. She has also been sailing in the Argentine sea and adds to her Logbook 4,000 nautical miles.  Consuelo speaks English and Spanish, and she is currently studying French.  She now works as an English Teacher in Argentina. She is in charge of the British promotion and of administrative aspects of Doradillo Velas (permit to access to the natural reserves, port formalities and insurance)

Laurent Gimenez, born in France, 33 years old. After leaving France, Laurent sailed 12,000 nautical miles across the Atlantic in his sailing boat and arrived in Argentina. During 2006 he sailed solo in the Argentine on several trips including Buenos Aires to Ushuaia.  He has decided to settle in Puerto Madryn. Laurent is a psychologist, truck driver and photographer. He speaks French, English, and Spanish.  He is the creator of Doradillo Velas.

Julio Pazos, born in Argentina, 45 years old.  He is a professional ocean and marine diver, founder and director of the company MarLImpio.  Born in Puerto Madryn, he knows well the Patagonian Ports and their requirements.

Olivier Gimenez, born in France, 34 years old.  Investigator in statistics applied to ecology in the Centre National de la Recherché Scientifique (CNRS) de Montpellier, in France.  He is currently working on the following topics: the impact of human activities in the dynamics of population; the natural selection of capture-recapture data, and the interpretation of data.  Olivier is part of the team Doradillo Velas, helping in the interpretation of data analysis of census and maintains a technical interchange with investigators who are involved in the expeditions of Doradillo Velas.  He speaks English and French.
