The “Carpe Diem” is a sailing boat of high seas up to 10metres, made of aluminium.

It is of a modern design, fast and secure. It has sailed over 4000 nautical miles in Patagonia. It has all the security elements for a several-week journey: rescue bag, life jackets, internal motor, heater, automatic pilot and wind pilot, dinghy boat, GPS, classical and electronic cartography, ultrasonic wave equipment, four anchorages, short distance radio and VHF, cooker, camping material, net and fishing lines.

The commodities on board are rustic but we believe are sufficient. We will be camping on land. More photos.

The association would take advantage of the sailing boats that pass through Puerto Madryn, adding to the fleet. These are sailing boats that would participate in some expeditions and would continue travelling to Ushuaia, Antarctica or the Pacific.

We are also trying to build cooperation with sailing boats from the Club Náutico Atlántico Sur de Puerto Madryn.
The captain of the boat is Laurent Gimenez, assisted by Consuelo Almonacid,
two founder members of the Doradillo Velas Association.
